iPhone letdown update
It seems that Apple Inc. may be in a bit of a slump. On July 29 and 30, the two days after the iPhone's release, the company activated a mere 144,000 iPhones, well below analysts' prediction of half a million.
Shares of the Cupertino, Calif.-based company dipped precipitously over the last month, slumping to about $117, down from over $145 the end of July.
Apple also just received a highly-buzzed bit of bad iPhone press when a young woman, Pittsburgh blogger Justine Ezarik, posted a video showing her 300-page phone bill, on her blog. Here it is, for all of you who haven't seen it yet:
Some analysts believe Apple will bounce back this quarter, with updates for the iPhone and the iPod in the works. Let's see what happens.
In the meantime, stay tuned for a column relating to this in the 10/1 edition of Marketing News, written by Brian Kardon, chief strategy and marketing officer for Forrester Research, Inc.

Comments
Jobs said that his product (iPhone) has inside, about technology, 5 years in advance.
Ok, right, but i think that iPhone is advanced only about software.
But in some place like european market, it' snot possible to use it in the best manner.
For example in italy perople buy mobile in Umts mode.
I Phone it's only Gprs.
So, so , so slow using iPhone Safari Browser in Gprs...
But maybe Jobs it's not worry cos he will sell iPhone just why the designe is so nice and apple brand is so strong.
Will let you know when iPhone will arrive in Italy.

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm stoked for the iPad applications though!
Thanks!

My first impressions of the iPad are largely positive. Apple has once again built a product that looks good and feels great in the hand, and the familiar user interface, borrowed from the iPhone and iPod touch, is perfectly suited to the bigger screen. The iPad whizzes along, opening applications, re-sizing web pages, and zooming in and out of maps almost instantaneously. Does someone know the release date? i love it and i want it...
